On June 7, the 1,6-hexanediol project of Fushun Tianfu Chemical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was started in Fushun High-tech Industrial Development Zone. After the project is put into production, it will provide raw materials for the development of new chemical intermediates and subsequent fine chemical products.
1,6-Hexanediol is a fine chemical raw material, widely used in high-quality polyurethane lubricants, thermal stability regulators, pharmaceutical intermediates, polyester plasticizers, architectural coatings and other fields. As 1,6-hexanediol production technology is completely controlled by a few countries in Europe and the United States, the domestic product has been dependent on imports, and the import volume is increasing at a rate of 10% per year. Fushun Tianfu Chemical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. 1,6-hexanediol project uses the technology of Shenyang University of Technology and has completely independent intellectual property rights. All major technical indicators have reached international standards. The conversion of dimethyl adipate was more than 99%, the selectivity of 1,6-hexanediol was more than 98%, and the yield was more than 93.5%.
According to reports, the catalyst research and pilot work of the project was completed by Shenyang University of Technology. In 2005, Fushun Tianfu Chemical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. cooperated with Shenyang University of Technology to complete the catalyst evaluation work. During the 1440-hour pilot test, all performances of the catalyst met the design requirements. At present, the project has completed environmental pre-evaluation, safety pre-evaluation, and engineering design. It is expected that it will be put into production in November this year.
