In terms of research and development capabilities, Huayuan Laidong is a veritable fertile land.



According to Zhang Zichen, Huayuan Laidong has 134 professional technicians of various types, among which 3 are internal combustion engine design experts, 3 are applied researchers, and 32 are senior engineers. They have obtained special allowances from the State Council. The top-notch talents and academic leaders are the core, with high technical level, high-quality new product R&D team, and established long-term technical cooperation relations with many research institutes such as the Tianjin Institute of Internal Combustion Engine.

At the same time, Huayuan Laiwu has paid great attention to R&D infrastructure for many years. In 1996, it was named a provincial-level technology center enterprise. It has advanced research and development test equipment, and its test methods are scientific, fair, accurate, and efficient. It has been approved by CNAS National Laboratory. certificate. The technical center has 12 engine test benches, of which 2 sets of AVL emission test systems, including particle counters and combustion analyzers, can meet the needs of the country's six emission development. In addition, parts and components such as airway test benches and oil pump test rigs are used to research and develop test equipment. According to reports, K15 indicators are not the most advanced in terms of indicators. However, key components such as high-pressure common-rail fuel systems, superchargers, EGR valves, and post-processors all come from domestic suppliers. Based on the reliability verification of the engine gantry and the entire vehicle road, the final batch will be put on the market.

Although it is difficult to adopt domestically-made parts, Huayuan Laiwu is very firm on the road to localization.

"In the course of product development, we cooperated with vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers to do a lot of test verification work, and only after rigorous verification was introduced to the market." Zhang Zichen said that because high pressure common rail systems are almost monopolized by well-known foreign companies, There is no experience in the country to use for reference. Therefore, the matching and calibration of the system is the most difficult part of the development process. “Our high-pressure common rail system uses Liaoning Xinfeng and Longkou Long Pumps, especially the development of the State V to use DPF. Domestically, it has not been too mature applications. We spent two years working with common-rail system manufacturers and post-processing manufacturers to calibrate the gantry and vehicle, including the calibration of the three-high environment, and we constantly explored it. Superior performance can be compared with imports

All key parts and components are supplied by domestic suppliers. Can the performance of the K15 be comparable to that of imported models?

According to Zhang Zichen, the most prominent feature of the K15 diesel engine is its low fuel consumption, low noise and light weight, which is at the leading level in the domestic industry.

First of all, K15 has taken fuel consumption reduction as an important indicator in the initial stage of design, and has optimized and improved the combustion organization and lightening. From the experimental results, K15 diesel engine matches all kinds of vehicles while meeting the national five emission standards. The fuel consumption index is far lower than the three-phase fuel consumption regulatory limit for light commercial vehicles, which can significantly reduce the cost of user use.
“The emission-weighted fuel consumption of K15 is 235 g/kWh, and the weighted fuel consumption of the same product in the industry is usually around 260~270 g/kWh. The K15 fuel consumption is lower than the industry average.” Zhang Zichen told the “Commercial Automotive News” reporter. Compared with the old platform products of Huayuan Laidong, the advantage of K15 is also obvious. “When the K15 is loaded, the vehicle trimming quality is usually around 1.6 tons. The fuel consumption regulations and the emission conditions of the whole vehicle are the same. The fuel consumption limit is 8.2 L, the fuel consumption of the old platform products is usually about 8 liters, which is lower than the limit, while the fuel consumption measured by the K15 is only about 7 liters, and the fuel consumption is significantly reduced.”

Secondly, the K15 diesel engine timing system adopts a belt drive. The intake and combustion processes are carefully optimized, and the noise is very low. It is close to the noise level of the gasoline engine and can meet the increasingly high driving comfort requirements of users.

In terms of weight reduction, K15 has made several improvements in lightening at the beginning of its design to reduce fuel consumption. According to Zhang Zichen, the cylinder head of the K15 is made of aluminum alloy, and the structure also adopts a patented new design. “General diesel engine cylinder head and intake pipe are separated. We cast the cylinder head and intake pipe together, not only the compact structure, And it has the advantage of being lighter and easier to install. There are very few diesel engines in the country that do this."

With this design alone, Huayuan Laidong has two patents on utility model and appearance.

It is not easy to change the structural design and appearance of the cylinder head without affecting the performance of the engine. In this regard, Zhang Zichen said: "The two patents on the cylinder head are the two most difficult of the nine patents in K15. The air intake structure of the engine requires the air duct on the cylinder head to match the shape of the intake pipe, and the intake pipe It is very difficult to cast together with the cylinder head while also ensuring the parameters of the airway.Fortunately, we have our own airway test bench, and after the software simulation, we can also put the sample on the airway test bench for verification and modification. , then install it on the engine for performance testing."
