Recently learned from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Economic and Information Technology Committee that since the beginning of this year, the high-tech industry in Inner Mongolia has shown a good momentum of development. It is represented by a series of high and new technologies represented by new rare earth materials, photovoltaics, wind power, bio-chemicals, clean coal utilization, and advanced petrochemical equipment manufacturing. The stable operation of the industry led to a significant increase in the leading and supporting role of chemical science and technology innovation in Inner Mongolia’s economic and social development. At present, two state-level hi-tech industrial development zones have been established in Inner Mongolia, including Baotou Rare Earth Development Zone, which is mainly composed of rare earth high-tech industries, and Hohhot Technology Development Zone, which is dominated by photovoltaic new energy industries such as polysilicon and monocrystalline silicon. There are seven provincial high-tech development zones (parks) and 30 high-tech industrialization bases.
