Solvent-refined mineral oils of traditional zinc-based anti-wear agents have a high initial total acid number (TAN). Honaman said: "You can even get sulfuric acid by adding water and hydrogen."
By comparison, Molykraft mineral oil contains no zinc-based chemicals and has a low initial TAN value. At the same time, due to the sulfur content of less than 5ppm, the anti-rust and anti-oxidation additive does not contain sulfur in fact, so the oil is a harmless product, it is suitable for use. Moreover, specially engineered chemicals make them inherently more resistant to oxidation and demulsibility, allowing them up to five times longer life than conventional oils.
