Fineness refers to the percentage of all particles in a material that are smaller than a certain particle size. Grinding fineness is usually expressed as a percentage of less than 200 mesh fractions. For example, the grinding fineness of a grinding machine is -200 mesh, accounting for 70% . The fineness and grain size of the grinding products are closely related, but the meanings are also different. The particle size refers to the size of the material particles. Due to customary reasons, the particle size of the grinding product is often referred to as grinding fineness.
At the production site, it is often necessary to measure the graded overflow fineness in order to adjust the operating conditions of the closed-circuit grinding process in time, for which rapid screening is used. The steps are as follows:
1. Take a graded overflow sample according to the sampling requirements, and fill the tank with a certain volume. Weigh and record the weight of the pot plus the slurry. From this weight, the slurry concentration can be found on the concentration checklist and the total weight of the solid (ie ore) is recorded.
2. The slurry samples in the concentration pot are all cleanly poured into a -200 mesh standard sieve for wet sieving, and sprayed with a fine water stream until the rinse water is clean. Pour the sieve into the pot, fill it with water, reweigh it, and record the weight of the pot and the water. From this weight, the weight of the solid on the sieve can be found on the concentration checklist (assuming that the product on the sieve has the same specific gravity as the product under the sieve).
3. Grinding fineness can be calculated by the following formula:
It can also be checked by the above formula.
