The Yellow River Xiaolangdi Guan Waterfall Festival was opened

Jiyuan, June 20. On the morning of the 20th, the Yellow River Xiaolangdi Viewing Waterfall Festival was grandly opened in the Yellow River Xiaolangdi Scenic Spot. The Xiaolangdi Guan Waterfall Festival has been held for seven consecutive years since 2005. The 2012 Yellow River Xiaolangdi Guan Waterfall Festival will end on July 10 for 20 days, during which many activities will be held.

The Yellow River is known as the "fighting water and seven sands." Once a year, “adjusting water and adjusting sand” is the use of reservoirs to adjust storage capacity, artificially create “floods” to scour river courses, thereby reducing sedimentation of downstream rivers and even reaching balance between erosion and sedimentation, and curbing riverbed elevation. During the transfer of water and sand, the water flow is fast and the water level in the reservoir area is large, showing spectacular scenes of the Yellow River and the waves. The torrential flow of diarrhoea formed turbulent weather as drizzle, and the coolness of 18°C ​​brought icy feeling to the tourists who were in the hot sun. The Yellow River Xiaolangdi water transfer and sand adjustment can be called “the world’s spectacular sediment waterfall” and attracts nearly a million Chinese and foreign tourists each year.
