Recently, relevant departments in Zigong City, Sichuan Province disclosed that in recent years, through the industrial upgrading of the city, the low energy consumption industry has rapidly expanded its scale, and the results of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†energy saving mission have ranked first in Sichuan Province. Zigong City has expanded its scale of low energy consumption products through industrial extension and optimization of the raw material industry based on salt chemical industry. For example, in 2005, the capacity of fluororubber in Chenguangyuan was 1,500 tons per year, and it has now been expanded to 7,000 tons per year, and the scale of equipment is the first in the country; the comprehensive energy consumption of the hospital in 2009 was only 0.71 tons of standard coal per million yuan, which is more than the basic chemical of the city. The overall energy consumption of the industry was 2.21 percentage points lower. Statistics show that in 2009, the main indicators of 33 key energy-consuming enterprises in the city showed that high-energy-consuming industries are no longer the main contribution of industrial economy in Zigong City.
