Alfa Laval pushes sulfur to not exceed 0.5% scrubber

Alfa Laval has introduced the PureSOx Global Exhaust Gas Cleaning System, which is designed to meet the limits of the sulfur content of the IMO fuel to be implemented by no more than 0.5%.

It is reported that the new system will become a powerful complement to the existing PureSOx ECA system, which can wash the exhaust gas to a pollution control zone emission standard with a sulfur content of only 0.1%. With this new product, the Pure SOx Flex Series system enables ship operators to switch operations in various operational areas around the world.

The requirement that the sulfur content of the fuel not exceeding 0.5% is expected to be decided at the next IMO Ship Environmental Protection Committee meeting in October this year, which means that Alfa Laval has introduced the system that meets this requirement for the first time in advance. . Alfa Laval's PureSOx system has been shipped in 70 units. All versions are available in open-loop, closed-loop and hybrid arrangements with a cost recovery cycle of up to 3 years.

Alfa Laval will also showcase its expanded PureSOx platform at the Hamburg Maritime Show in September this year.
