As of the beginning of this year, part of the contract price has exceeded 3000 US dollars (t price, the same below). It is understood that at the beginning of December 2010, the price of caprolactam in Asia was still 2,800 U.S. dollars. By mid-December, the price had risen to around 2,860 U.S. dollars. Since then, the United States Honeywell, Dutch DSM and French Rhodia and other companies declared force majeure, the market price quickly exceeded the psychological price of 2900 US dollars, on December 24 reached 2920 US dollars. Asia’s main supplier of caprolactam, Ube Industries, said that if the market supply is still tight, Asian prices may reach 3050 to 3100 US dollars.
