The compound bio-nutrition developed under the leadership of Prof. Chen Huaguo of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering Management of Chang’an University has recently been granted a national invention patent. Experts pointed out that the promotion and application of this product will end the long history of microbial cultivation and artificially difficult to control history, making China's wastewater biochemical treatment technology among the world's advanced.
According to regulatory requirements, industrial companies must discharge wastewater before reaching the standard to discharge. This requires companies to carry out rigorous biochemical treatment after physicochemical treatment of wastewater, significantly reduce the concentration of COD, ammonia nitrogen and other toxic and harmful substances, and to cultivate enough microorganisms to “eat†toxic and hazardous substances in water before biochemical treatment ( bacterial). The composite bio-nutrients developed by Chen Huaguo and others contain a variety of organic substances, inorganic trace elements and vitamins that can promote the growth of microorganisms. After hydrolysis, it can generate polyvalent anions and cations that are easily absorbed and utilized by microorganisms, increase the activity of enzymes in microorganisms, accelerate the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, and greatly increase the biochemical reaction rate and the ability of microorganisms to degrade organic pollutants.
It is worth mentioning that this nutrient is composed of macromolecules that can block the toxicity of chemical residues on microorganisms, allowing microorganisms to reproduce rapidly in harsh environments, and automatically adjust the rate of microbial reproduction according to the quantity and concentration of inlet wastewater.
According to Yuan Runmin, director of Yan'an Refinery Wastewater Treatment Plant, compound bio-nutrients can significantly improve biochemical performance and biodiversity, and increase bio-chemical treatment capacity after being used in the treatment plant of the extended wastewater. In the case of large changes in pH, or abnormal operating conditions, the refinery wastewater still has a good treatment effect. At the same time, bacterial culture time was reduced from the original 20 to 30 days to less than 15 days.
It is understood that since 2004, compound microbial nutrients have been applied in more than 40 petrochemical, coal chemical, and daily chemical companies, and have received good results. The cost per ton of wastewater treatment is only 0.1 yuan. At present, several companies have actively contacted Professor Chen and hope to cooperate in the construction of 10,000-ton industrial production facilities to meet the needs of wastewater treatment.
