Sichuan: Prohibited to sell non-mechanical building flue exhaust pipes from April next year

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Sichuan Province issued a notice a few days ago, which stipulates that, starting from April 1, next year, the use of mechanical building exhaust fumes will be promoted in construction projects across the province, and the use of non-mechanized building exhaust fumes will be prohibited. Building flue gas duct production enterprises may not sell non-mechanized building flue gas ducts.

Non-mechanical building exhaust air quality is unstable, which can easily lead to accidents such as smoke, fire, and collapse. The notice stipulates that the design unit must not use flue gas air ducts that do not meet the national and Sichuan provincial standards when designing and selecting building flue gas ducts. The construction drawing design document review agency shall not pass the review of design drawings that fail to meet the standard requirements. Construction flue gas ducts purchased by construction units or project contractors must meet the design requirements. The construction, supervision and construction units shall inspect the product quality of the flue gas ducts in the construction site and install them after passing the inspection. For construction projects that use building flue gas ducts in violation of regulations and those without fire check valves installed, supervision units may not sign, and construction units may not pass inspections.
