In order to make full use of the low-grade phosphate rock resources, in May 2004, Shennongjia Mining Company began to study the low-grade phosphate ore beneficiation work, and successively conducted beneficiation tests with a number of research institutes and institutes at home and abroad. They used a weight - joint flotation process, the phosphate rock phosphorus pentoxide content of about 18% by weight selected from enriched to 30% by flotation and then, finally obtained phosphorus pentoxide ≥36.5%, magnesium oxide <0.3%, silica> 4% phosphorus concentrate. In September last year, in order to meet the needs of industrial production, the company expanded the scale of the test and optimized the beneficiation process. Now it has succeeded in mass production of phosphorus concentrate products with a quality index of phosphorus pentoxide of 37% and magnesium oxide. 0.49%, silica 2.8%, product recovery rate of 50%. At the same time of the beneficiation test, they have done a lot of research on how to achieve clean and environmental protection. At present, the process has achieved zero discharge of water, phosphorus-containing waste residue for the production of calcium or kiln process phosphoric acid, phosphorus content less than 5%. Waste rock is used to produce non-burnt bricks and achieves "green beneficiation". Not only has the selection of magnesium been more successful, but it has also achieved a worldwide breakthrough in silicon selection, reducing silica from 11% to 1.6%. Experiments show that Yichang and China's collophanite are optional, which has found a way to achieve the comprehensive utilization of low-grade phosphate.

It is reported that the feasibility study of the mineral processing project of Shennongjia Mining Company and the environmental impact assessment project have been completed. The total investment of the project is 90 million yuan, and the planned construction period is 12 months. At present, the company has selected a 200,000-tonne site in Yuan'an County, Hubei Province.
