On December 8th, with the release of the first 1,000 kg of coated controlled-release fertilizer products, the 5,000-ton/year controlled-release fertilizer pilot project developed by China National Petroleum Corporation was successfully launched. Since then, China Ocean Chemistry has mastered the international advanced controlled-release fertilizer production technology. The product of this project can improve the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers, improve the soil environment, and promote the increase of agricultural incomes and expenditures. It is a good helper for developing efficient agriculture.
This is a state-supported research achievement industrialization project, which was completed three years ago by the scientific research team of the China Chemical Technology Development Center and the national research institutes.
At present, the utilization rate of fertilizers in China is far lower than the developed countries in the world. The main reason for the low fertilizer utilization rate is leaching loss, especially nitrogen fertilizer. The loss of fertilizer not only caused a waste of resources, but also caused land consolidation. The development of slow/controlled release fertilizers is an important measure adopted by various countries in the world to increase the utilization rate of fertilizers. Among the various slow- and controlled-release fertilizers currently researched and developed in China, polymer-coated controlled-release fertilizers are controlled by nutrients to release nutrients and meet the nutrient requirements during the growing season. However, high-molecular polymers that are currently used as sustained-release materials are generally difficult to degrade or degrade, and long-term application can easily cause soil contamination.
The project uses vegetable oils and esters as the main coating material, with low usage, low economic cost, no solvent required for the coating process, and controlled release fertilizers that produce no volatile solvents and do not pollute the environment. The performance of the product is in line with the national standards for slow-release fertilizers. Short-term crops meet the requirements of one-time fertilization and no need for top dressing. Products can be widely used in a variety of economic crops and agricultural crops. The preliminary demonstration experiments carried out on banana, pineapple, sugarcane, corn and other economic crops and field crops showed that controlled-release fertilizers can increase production by 8% to 20%, and increase income by 150 to 700 yuan per mu.
It is reported that slow/controlled release fertilizers are new types of fertilizers that can slow down or control the rate of release of nutrients. They are new technologies that the Ministry of Agriculture gives priority to during the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
