Electrical instrumentation product reliability needs to be strengthened

In recent years, the output of electrical instruments and meters in China has developed relatively rapidly. In 2011, the growth rate was even higher. Data shows that in the next few years, the annual demand for electrical instrumentation products in the domestic market will remain at around 60 million sets.

Among them, 54 million sets are required for the power sector and 6 million sets for other sectors. From the perspective of product structure, there are 48 million electric energy meter products, 7 million electric energy meter products, 2.5 million portable electric meters, 1.5 million digital instruments, and 1 million other meter equipment.

The demand structure of various types of products is also changing. The proportion of electronic energy meters in electric energy meter products will gradually increase from the 2 million units in the early period of the “10th Five-Year Plan” period to 12 million units in the final stage. The technical content of installed meters, portable meters, and digital meters will also increase, and product levels will continue to increase. Therefore, although the total annual product demand will not change much in recent years, the total sales volume will continue to increase. The annual growth rate is expected to be 8%.

In the fields of automation control systems, field instruments, and key precision testing instruments, there is still a big gap between us and the international advanced level. The situation in which medium-to-high-end instruments rely heavily on imports still remains unchanged. Therefore, the development goals of China's instrumentation industry in the future are to achieve, catch up, and lead the world.
